Pour le monde m\u00e9dical, il est essentiel de comprendre pourquoi tant de personnes ne suivent pas les recommandations des experts et ont des convictions qui vont \u00e0 l\u2019encontre du consensus scientifique. Mais les chercheurs en sant\u00e9 publique, les experts et les d\u00e9cideurs se tournent trop souvent vers un type d\u2019explication fond\u00e9 sur l\u2019id\u00e9e que le public n\u2019adh\u00e8re plus \u00e0 l\u2019autorit\u00e9 culturelle de la science, qu\u2019il rejette de plus en plus la m\u00e9thode scientifique et les scientifiques en tant que sources d\u2019information. Pourtant, les limites de cette forme d\u2019explication ont \u00e9t\u00e9 clairement expos\u00e9es depuis des ann\u00e9es par des travaux en sociologie des sciences. Dans cet article, nous souhaitons illustrer ces limites \u00e0 partir de deux exemples largement comment\u00e9s pendant l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de COVID-19\u00a0: la question de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019hydroxychloroquine contre la COVID-19\u00a0et la vaccination des enfants contre le COVID-19. D\u2019une part, il est important de continuer \u00e0 tirer les bonnes le\u00e7ons des premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es de l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de COVID-19\u00a0et, d\u2019autre part, ces cas permettent de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir au d\u00e9fi \u00e0 venir. En effet, une mauvaise compr\u00e9hension de ce qui motive les attitudes et les comportements du public peut affecter l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 et la qualit\u00e9 \u00e9thique des politiques de sant\u00e9 publique.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"abs0005\" class=\"abstract author\" lang=\"en\">\n<h2 class=\"section-title u-h4 u-margin-l-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Summary<\/h2>\n<div id=\"abst0010\">\n<div id=\"spar0010\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">During the COVID-19 epidemic, public attitudes towards science and expert recommendations were a major concern in the public health community. For the medical world, it is essential to understand why so many people do not follow expert recommendations and hold beliefs that run counter to the scientific consensus. But public health researchers, experts and decision-makers too often turn to a type of explanation based on the idea that the public no longer adheres to the cultural authority of science, that it increasingly rejects the scientific method and scientists as sources of information. Yet, the limits of this form of explanation have been clearly exposed for decades by work in the sociology of science. In this article, we wish to illustrate these limits using two examples widely commented on during the COVID-19 epidemic: the question of the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine against COVID-19 and the vaccination of children against COVID-19. On the one hand, it is important to continue to draw the right lessons from the early years of the COVID-19 epidemic, and on the other, these cases provide food for thought about the challenges ahead. Indeed, a poor understanding of what motivates public attitudes and behaviour can affect the effectiveness and ethical quality of public health policies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"preview-section-introduction\">\n<div class=\"PageDivider\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"Introduction u-font-serif u-margin-l-ver\">\n<h2 class=\"u-h4 u-margin-s-bottom\">Introduction<\/h2>\n<section id=\"sec0005\">\n<div id=\"par0005\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Pendant l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de COVID-19, les attitudes du public \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de la science et des recommandations des experts ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un sujet de pr\u00e9occupation majeur dans le milieu de la sant\u00e9 publique. Pour le monde m\u00e9dical, il est essentiel de comprendre pourquoi tant de personnes ne suivent pas les recommandations des experts et ont des convictions qui vont \u00e0 l\u2019encontre du consensus scientifique. Mais les chercheurs en sant\u00e9 publique, les experts et les d\u00e9cideurs se tournent trop souvent vers un type d\u2019explication que nous appellerons le cadre du \u00ab\u00a0public qui rejette la science\u00a0\u00bb et qui est inad\u00e9quat. Ce cadre analytique est fond\u00e9 sur l\u2019id\u00e9e que le public n\u2019adh\u00e8re plus \u00e0 l\u2019autorit\u00e9 culturelle de la science. Il rejette de plus en plus la m\u00e9thode scientifique et les scientifiques en tant que sources d\u2019information. La persistance du recours \u00e0 ce cadre de compr\u00e9hension devrait nous surprendre. Ses importantes limites ont \u00e9t\u00e9 clairement expos\u00e9es depuis des ann\u00e9es par des travaux en sociologie des sciences et les \u00e9tudes sociales des sciences plus g\u00e9nr\u00e9alement. Elle est aussi l\u2019occasion de faire un bilan sur les travaux autour des rapports ordinaires \u00e0 la science.<\/div>\n<div id=\"par0015\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Depuis l\u2019apparition du SARS-COV-2, des ressources consid\u00e9rables ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9es \u00e0 la recherche scientifique, ce qui a permis une \u00e9volution rapide et spectaculaire des connaissances sur le virus. Par exemple, la communaut\u00e9 scientifique a \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de comprendre comment celui-ci se d\u00e9place<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<section id=\"sec0015\">\n<h2 class=\"section-title u-h4 u-margin-l-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Comprendre les attitudes \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de l\u2019hydroxychloroquine et de la vaccination des enfants contre la COVID-19<\/h2>\n<div id=\"par0040\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Pour montrer les limites du cadre du \u00ab\u00a0public qui rejette la science\u00a0\u00bb, nous nous concentrons sur deux sujets qui ont occup\u00e9 le d\u00e9bat public pendant l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de COVID-19\u00a0et sur lesquels nous avons enqu\u00eat\u00e9s (suivi du d\u00e9bat public et enqu\u00eates par questionnaires)\u00a0: la croyance que l\u2019hydroxychloroquine est un traitement efficace contre la COVID-19\u00a0et la question de savoir si la vaccination contre la COVID-19\u00a0devait \u00eatre recommand\u00e9e pour les enfants de moins de 11 ans.<\/div>\n<div id=\"par0045\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es,<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<section id=\"sec0020\">\n<h2 class=\"section-title u-h4 u-margin-l-top u-margin-xs-bottom\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n<div id=\"par0090\" class=\"u-margin-s-bottom\">La tendance des experts m\u00e9dicaux \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter l\u2019h\u00e9sitation vaccinale et la croyance en l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019hydroxychloroquine contre la COVID-19\u00a0comme des attaques contre l\u2019autorit\u00e9 culturelle de la science est compr\u00e9hensible. Au cours de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie, les tentatives de politiciens, d\u2019industriels, d\u2019activistes, de\u00a0<em>think tanks<\/em>\u00a0et d\u2019autres acteurs d\u2019occulter les r\u00e9sultats issus de la recherche au profit d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eats particuliers semblent s\u2019\u00eatre intensifi\u00e9s dans de nombreux pays.
