Cet article pr\u00e9sente les bases du mod\u00e8le, d\u00e9crit les interactions entre plaques lithosph\u00e9riques et analyse les m\u00e9canismes g\u00e9ophysiques qui contr\u00f4lent ces ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes. Une attention particuli\u00e8re est port\u00e9e aux zones de subduction, aux dorsales oc\u00e9aniques et aux failles transformantes, r\u00e9gions o\u00f9 se concentrent la plupart des risques naturels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I. Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depuis les travaux r\u00e9volutionnaires de Wegener et les preuves accumul\u00e9es durant la seconde moiti\u00e9 du XX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle, la tectonique des plaques s\u2019est impos\u00e9e comme la th\u00e9orie centrale de la g\u00e9ologie moderne. Elle explique la mobilit\u00e9 de la lithosph\u00e8re, les zones sismiques, et la r\u00e9partition des volcans actifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>II. Les bases de la tectonique des plaques<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La lithosph\u00e8re terrestre est fragment\u00e9e en une douzaine de plaques rigides, mobiles sur l\u2019asth\u00e9nosph\u00e8re ductile. Ces mouvements sont entra\u00een\u00e9s par :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>la convection mantellique,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>la traction des plaques en subduction (slab pull),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>la pouss\u00e9e exerc\u00e9e par les dorsales (ridge push).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>III. Volcanisme et tectonique<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le volcanisme est principalement associ\u00e9 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Aux dorsales oc\u00e9aniques<\/strong> \u2014 volcanisme de divergence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aux zones de subduction<\/strong> \u2014 volcanisme explosif (arc volcanique).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aux points chauds<\/strong> \u2014 anomalie thermique fixe (ex : Hawai&#8217;i).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IV. S\u00e9ismes et d\u00e9formation de la lithosph\u00e8re<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les s\u00e9ismes r\u00e9sultent de l\u2019accumulation puis de la lib\u00e9ration d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e9lastique le long des <strong>failles<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>failles normales (extension),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>failles inverses (compression),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>failles d\u00e9crochantes (cisaillement).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>V.
